The fight of a global industry

Can you believe that it has been 21 weeks since march 16th, the day that our world literally came to a stand still.
There are days I feel like I have gotten used to this new life, and then there are days when I find myself hoping that this is still a nightmare and I will wake up and all will be good.
But this is no nightmare, this is no illusion, this is for real dude!

2019 ended with so many unique and wonderful projects. We produced the most amazing events in Vienna, Singapore, Borneo, the South of France and Amsterdam. We designed bars, room in room concepts and even directed a music video. We started 2020 with the most amazing birthday celebration, not knowing that this would have been the first and last event of 2020, not knowing that the very venue of this event would need to close its doors for good because of Corona, because a virus is ruining an entire industry.
Who would have known …

Do I sound sad? Do I sound frustrated? Do I sound hopeless? 
Well I would say yes, yes I feel like a cocktail of all these emotions. 
We are standing since march 16th, we are deprived of our businesses of our industry of all that we have built and created the past decades. We are living off of our savings, we are protecting our businesses like parents are protecting their children in a warzone.
Yes we are all of that because the entire world wants to tell us that we will not be working for a very long time.
Yes we are all that because our politicians are making promises without taking any actions towards us, because the world seems to paint our industry as being the one that does nothing but spread the virus.

And here comes my question, my claim, my exclamation: WHY

Let me tell you, it is us who know how to put many people into one room without causing any damages or harm, it is us who diligently handle the crowds and make sure that everybody gets in and out of an event safely, it is us who know how to protect guests, vendors and venues. 

It is us who plan your events, your weddings, your anniversaries, your marathons, your concerts, your festivals, your balls, your sport events, your fairs, your incentive travels your markets your favorite annual events!
And it is us who won’t be here to do so if the world and the politicians continue to do what they do, namely neither protect us nor encourage the public to work with us.
